Hey guyssss, so this is more of an informational journal, and it's about the importance of ORIGINAL ideas. I wanted to point out a few things, that might be muddled in between writers/artists/etc. But more so between writers because it's easy to change a few things from someone else's plot and call it our own.

I have inspirations. Some truly amazing fics really inspire me to write something that is SIMILAR or rather in the same universe. Some fics inspire me to write something epic or emotional. But if i do choose to write something that is increasingly close to the style or plot of what somebody ALREADY did, that is when i have to credit that person.

  • Crediting the original creator is extremely important.

Also, being inspired and essentially imitating a person's fic are completely different things. For example, if i say "Blu wrote a fic about Levi being a bitter biscuit" and i wrote a fic about Levi being a bitter biscuit yet changed some things...that's not being inspired, that's in a light way, copying what Blu thought of, and what Blu made up.
  • You can't be inspired yet use the same plot as the original creator.
After that, it's a more holistic reason to why this is a medial concern. When you get inspired, you want to get attention for something YOU did. Not one somebody else did. You want it to be your original ideas, your original creation. You want to say "i was inspired by this person and look at what masterpiece i made!" As Blu said, you want to gain attention because of YOUR traits and abilities and not anybody else's. Fix it to your liking. And then that's when you can thank the person who inspired you and say "because of you i created something amazing".
  • Show you're inspired by creating something amazing inspired by them

Anyways, yes, this is a pretty easy going journal, but i just want to make sure you guys have this clear. Because many people are "inspired" yet what they write or create is essentially the same thing. You want to be different and yourself okay? Plus it is in some way a form of offense to the original creator--it's taking their idea without crediting them and calling it your own. Although it's a little lighter than full plagiarism, it is.

Thank you so much, have a wonderful day!
